Our Honeymoon!

Howie and I had so much fun on our honeymoon! We went parasailing, kayaking, and horseback riding. Lake Tahoe is absolutely beautiful and it was the perfect way for us to spend our first week as husband and wife. The weather cooperated most of the time. Surprisingly, the 4th of July brought about the worst weather of the entire trip. It was overcast, windy, and chilly that day. It was also the same day we decided to do our boat cruise! Yikes. But the fireworks they did in Tahoe City were amazing. Definitely worth the wait. There were a couple days that were quite smoky because of all the fires that were going on in Northern California at the time but it wasn't too bad. We were told that it was a good thing we went the week we did because the week before you couldn't even see the mountains! It made for some beautiful sunsets though. The condos that we stayed in were very nice. They were called The Olympic Village Inn in Squaw Valley. They even offered a pottery class one day that we took advantage of. Howie made a vase and I made a Christmas candy dish. We had so much fun. It was the perfect honeymoon destination for us.

Our Wedding Day - June 28, 2008

Our wedding day was the happiest day of my life. Everything went exactly as planned! There is nothing I would ever want to change about that day. I'm so glad it went off without a hitch.

It all started with an early morning temple sealing at 9:20am in the Salt Lake Temple. The ceremony was a little long but our sealer was long winded so that's why. But a lot of the things he had to say were beautiful and I hope to incorporate them into Howie and I's marriage. After the sealing, we had to walk around the temple grounds for pictures. It was HOT by the time the sealing was done so it was a little frustrating. I hate being too hot. I hope the pictures turn out well! I can't wait to see them.

After pictures we headed over the the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for our wedding luncheon. The food was absolutely delicious! If you can book any meal event there, do it! You will not be disappointed. I wanted to eat all the leftovers but with my serving alone I almost could not fit into my dress anymore! It was so yummy. Howie's best man gave a wonderful toast. I think everyone really enjoyed it. We had to get up at the end of the luncheon and thank everyone for coming out and of course I got emotional. I'm not good at speaking in public even amongst family and friends! I even forgot to thank my parents publicly for all they had done.

After the luncheon we had some spare time to pack for our honeymoon. We went back to our condo and got all of our things in order. We also wanted to drop my car off in the Anniversary Inn parking lot because we didn't want our vehicles trashed! Haha, we're so sneaky.

Then it was time for the reception and I couldn't believe the day was almost over! Six months of planning and it was all coming to a close so soon. Everything was in place, the bouquet, the tables, the guest book, the harpist...everything was perfect. We got to see loads of friends and family coming to congratulate us and I loved it. It was so great to have a day that was all about us. Soon it was time for the Daddy/Daughter dance and I was so happy because I had waited for that for so long. We danced to Billy Joel's "Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)". Some may not understand why I chose that song but if you listen to the words closely you'll have a better understanding. It's a beautiful song and my Dad sang the last little bit of it to me while we danced. It's the only song that made me cry while I thought of my Dad so that's why I picked it. Then it was Howie's turn for the Husband/Wife dance. I had also highly anticipated that. Our first dance together as husband and wife. We danced to Edwin McCain's "I Could Not Ask For More". The song was perfect for the occasion. The lyrics are the best way I could describe Howie and that's why I chose it.

After the reception it was time to jump into our limo and head to The Anniversary Inn! My sister-in-law and brother gave us a honeymoon basked with a ton of cool things in it (chocolates, rootbeer, etc). It was great to have something to snack on. We were starving. We stayed in The French Canopy room which was pretty cool. They give you complementary cheesecake and apple cider when you get there and we also had rose petals all over the suite. We had a waterfall shower! Haha. It wasn't as cool as it sounds though. I actually didn't care for showering in it. It was a neat place to stay for our wedding night but I would probably not stay there again. It's a little overrated. The breakfast the next day was pretty good though!

Well, that's all for now. I just thought I would share the events of our wedding day with all of you who may've missed it. :)
