Forget Me Not

President Uchtdorf gave an amazing talk during the Relief Society Broadcast this last Saturday night.  If you missed it, watch it here.

Highlights for me:

"Never stop striving for the best that is within you."

"If you will only allow his divine love into your life it can dress any wound, heal any hurt and soften any sorrow."

"You are destined for more than you can possibly imagine."

"...And I do know now I was never forgotten.  And I know something else.  And as an Apostle of our Master, Jesus Christ, I proclaim, with all the certainty and conviction of my heart and soul, neither are you.  You are not forgotten.  Sisters, wherever you are.  Whatever the circumstances may be, you are not forgotten.  No matter how dark your days may seem.  No matter how insignificant you may feel.  No matter how overshadowed you think you may be. Your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you.  In fact, he loves you with an infinite love."

The Fair

Today was a good old time at the Salt Lake Fair!

At The Fair, It's all about the food.
We didn't try any of this strange stuff, but it was fun to look.  Scorpion anyone?  How about one dipped in chocolate?
We rode down this massive slide.  I couldn't wipe the smile off my face as we went down it.  I seriously felt like I was 7 years old.

Frozen banana dipped in chocolate and rolled in nuts.  Sounds good to me!

I've never tried a funnel cake before so I told Howie we had to try one before we left.  It was sugar overload at The Fair!  It was mighty tasty.
A good time was had by all.

9.11.01

I can't believe it's been 10 years.  Today I am reflecting on that day and the people that lost their lives.  I'm so glad I've already documented my 9/11 story.  It's neat to be able to go back and read it.  I came very close to being caught up in the middle of all of that and I can't help but think that there was a higher power involved.

I am so proud to be an American.

Gambling in Wendover, NV

Yesterday we celebrated my youngest sister's 21st birthday by taking her to Wendover.
I'm a big loser.  I lost $60.

My Mom playing the $.01 machines.

Here's my sister livin' the gambling dream!
She went home $80 richer.
Lucky punk.

My sister-in-law Cheryl, Grandma Van Cott, and brother Jason.
The only person I didn't snag a picture of was my Dad, but he was present.

A great time was had by all.  We gambled at the Rainbow Casino and indulged in their Dinner Buffet.  Mmmm, cheesecake.  We all were big losers except for Miranda who walked out with $80.

I hope we didn't spawn a future gambling addiction.
